DAT's Future Routes.

Sun Nov 11, 2001 2:12 am

Hello again everyone.

I can now give you a short explanation of the future DAT (name will change soon) network:

BAe 146 / Avros : will operate more or less the same network than before. BUT LHR, MAD, FCO, OSL, HEL BCN, ZRH will be added.

A319: will operate to GVA, TLV, ATH, VCE, AGP.

Main change for the crews: much more night stops on Avro than with Airbus A319.

A330: operates to JFK (possibly EWR later), BOS and a network of other African destinations that I can't remember. But anyway no major change mainly reductions. Asian destinations are NOT ruled out but will only appeat for summer 2002 at the earliest.

The slide presentation went pretty fast so I can't be 100% sure, I can only rely on my old hard disk :- . But it should be actual enough.
The wage is quite reduced for the pilots (even current DAT's) but it raised for the current DAT (...as well as flat rate !!) cabin crews.

Hope this helps !!!

Why would they fly to EWR? Your battling for the New York area market, so why not fly 2X to JFK. SN didnt do well at EWR, and IAD..

Any possibility of DAT flying to YUL Flying Belgian?

Will DAT actually fly the routes to LHR, FCO and BCN itself, or will they give these flights in concession to VEX as they (I mean SN) did in the past?

Tonights flight to LHR is a flight operated by DAT. Virgin Express has got a flight number for this flight aswell. My guess is that Virgin will have to give back the slot to whom they belong. As Virgin was only operating on behalf of Sabena.

Thanks Manni, I was just wondering about that.

Can I assume that Virgin operated the flight as well ?

The flights to LHR operated by TV were cancelled tonight. You can have a look at BIACs website, check the departure information.

when I looked at the BIAC-site at around 21:15 the SN flight to LHR was there, together with the VEX-flight. Both were mentioned as 'departed' (I think).

Now the SN flight is gone and the VEX flight mentioned as 'cancelled'.

Strange !

BAA Heathrow Arrivals

TONIGHT;

2000 TV5831 BRUSSELS LANDED 1910 T1
2050 QG5833 BRUSSELS LANDED 2022 T1
2100 TV5833 BRUSSELS LANDED 2045 T1

DUE TOMORROW MORNING

0650 TV5813 BRUSSELS
0730 QG5813 BRUSSELS
1045 QG5817 BRUSSELS

It would appear Virgin Express have secured their own slots for the Heathrow services. Strangely both airlines are using the original flightnumbers, but they are now operating at different times and on different aircraft!

To my gretaest surprise I found back some VEX destinations in this preliminary DAT's destinations list.

The reason is simple: 1/2 of the slots were belonging to Sabena and "leased back" to VEX.

The future agreements between DAT & VEX are still unclear. But it was said yesterday that the 2 biggest investors in the new Belgian airline have met Branson in London.

P.S: no scheduled flights foreseen so far to YUL.
