Brixia Airways

Tue Nov 13, 2001 3:21 am

Another startup, Brixia Airways from Brescia, Italy, will start operation this winter with either Boeing 717 or 737NG. On their homepage a 717 in Boeing housecolors is pictured.
Any chance that this airline will become real? What do you think

I live near Brescia and I read many articles about them on local papers.
In my opinion they won't become real.
Recently I read they are looking for some regional jet in spite of the large 737NG/717.

Air Italy is a new start up also from Brescia.
They fly 2 Saab 2000 from Palermo and Bologna on schedule regional routes, also they are planning to lease a B767/200ER to use on charter flights, but at this time nothing happened.

Also from Brescia, it was rumored Ryanair was looking to open a small hub there, but at the end they chose Charleroy.
