Bad Time For Aviation

Tue Nov 13, 2001 5:06 am

The last 2 months really were very bad ones for aviation. With todays crash its 5 bigger jets which are lost ! My deep thoughts to all the relatives of the victims! Take care and be safe everyone .

When I joined A.net it was still free, haha ;).

Actually, it was 7. Don't forget the SAS MD80 and the Tupolev154!

Spectacularly bad time for our industry. My degree is about to turn into toilet paper by the time I get out of university, judging by the employment opportunities in civil aviation...

If you look at the stats the airline industry was struggling prior to September 11th so a shakeout could do the industry a lot of good in the long run. Too many people think short term. Look at the trends over time and you will see that it is a bit of a roller coaster ride. Things may look grim right now but in 2 years time things will have gone full circle. Wait and see.

Hence the Gulf War.

Everything is a rollercoaster, the stock market, economy, airline industry.

That's the way life is. Stay positive and we will all pull through the hard times.
