On that date, the MAN flight was operated by A6-EAA and not A6-EKR!

Besides, EK use the 777 to LHR and the 330 to MAN

Emirates do use the A330 into LHR sometime, presumably when one of the triple sevens (200-or-300)
is in for maintenance or theres lower pax loads or something. They use the A330 inot LGW and inot BHX too, so it could be any of the four, though if Mr Tapperaell has found a spot to take shots like that at LHR i want to know about it, becasue it would really make for a road trip down to LHR a deffintae probability !

Yeah there's a few others as well. I seen one of an AF 320 that said LHR, but the a/c was behind a board saying Runway 24L, since when has LHR had a 24L??? Aint it 27L??

I recking it is Manchester. If you do a search for British Midland, you will see a few photo's by Mr Taperell that are actually Manchester and not Heathrow as the caption says.

Also, if you compare the background scenery to other Manchester shots, you will be able to spot trees and then hills in the background.

I'm from Manchester and from the hills in the background it certainly looks like MAN. And that is an A330....

If you look at the layout of Heathrow, unless the a/c was rotating VERY very early on 9R, there would be no chance for greenery and trees to be in the background. Also, for the shot to have been taken while the a/c was departing 27R, there would not be taxiways in the foreground...

Actually, A6-EKR went into MAN on the 27th Oct.
Therefore GF-A330 and others are probably right!

It looks at about the right place for a shit at Man as well - just near the pub is where the a/c shots can be taken - and just where that is touching down.

I cant think of anywhere else that has a good spot like that.
the only thing is, that EK55 is due to land at 11.30 Am, and that shot looks like its at the end of the day when the light is failing.

does anyone know what time the a/c arrived on the 26th october?

What a prat! I wrote that by accident.
Also, there isnt a lot of flap extended, so it must be departing...and would have therefore been taken from the aviation car park.

Emirates uses a B773, B772 and A332 on the three daily flights to LHR.

Right, that photo is Manchester!!! Its my home!! The hills in the background give it away, its the Peak District. Just to prove the point here's some more photos which were taken at MANCHESTER!

Another give away is the grass, its very green as its recently been layed alongside the new 2nd runway. And a final point, it doesn't always rain in Manchester! Today we had clear skies and sunshine, although it was ice cold!

Its MAN, its afternoon and its taken looking south over 24R from the aviation viewing park and looks like the a/c is departing. I shot a bmi 330 and Delta 777 a few weeks ago at the exact same spot, with the sun at about the same position and the 24R board beyond.

Certainly not Glasgow - you'd never catch an Emirates 330 there.

Thought it was a bit odd to see the following airlines/aircraft at LHR.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

(Unless they were LGW diversions on October 26 ???)

This is one of the ACARS reports I received for that day:

A6-EAA (A330 UAE) 12:12 2001/10/26 EK0035 (OMDB-EGCC DUBAI/MANCHESTER)

And part of an extract of a log that I've received:

Manchester 14:15 - 19:30

A6-EAA AIRBUS A330 348 Emirates

So Kaddy, are you sure it wasn't the 27th you went to MAN?

The stand number should be 54 and T3 is the British Airways terminal so we have AA, AY, EK, TH, LC as well as BA operating from there. The other airlines are in partnership be it through codesharing, franchising or co-operation with BA.

You guys should read the photography forum.

Come on, its not that hard to guess he made a genuine mistake!!!

I didn't actually notice the mistake, because i only check the airport if i am not familiar with where it was taken, and these photos are at my favourite spot!!

David,

Sure the stand is 54? When I was on EK035 a few months ago i'm pretty certain the EK A330 was at Gate 55. Gate 54 was being used by a BA 737 going to Milan. When I first arrived at T3, 55 was also being used by the American 767. Anyway, it's by the by!

Yeah, although I've flown from MAN a few times, I would agree with David_itl on this, or BlueShamu330s or Crosswind or Billy if they entered this debate.

The pic is definitly MAN, but how can u confuse MAN with LHR??? I mean LHR is more than 3 times busier than MAN!
But the pics are high quality so Jason is forgiven  Smile

DEM

I'm at the wrong place (at the wrong time?) to give the EK gate but 55 now chimes a bell in my head as being more likely. I'm pretty certain that there's only one widebodied stand at T3 (for the time being).
