Virgin Blue's New Colour Scheme

Fri Nov 16, 2001 5:52 am

Seen on Thursday 15th November was a Virgin Blue 737 with a new colour scheme in Sydney. A brief description: the tail remains mainly the same, with the body being mostly white. The telephone number has been taken off (thank goodness). It looks pretty good.

According to the caption it is painted like this cause it's leased from British Midland for 6 months until more 737NG's arrive

Last time I was in CDG, my friend who does not do much aviation asked which one was the australian airline one...Qantas, that is....and I said the red tailed one...I guess now we cant say that anymore since both of aussies airlines are now red tailed !!!

It is a hybrid scheme, as it is leased for 6 months. It is leased from Ansett (733 VH-CZQ) rather than British Midland.

Although it is hybrid, I still like it very much.

Norbert,

I didn't realise you were a contributor here.

I regularly read you posts on the Australia Transport Discussion Board.

Seems like you have been here a little while but welcome anyway!

Cheers,

I like it that way personally. The silvery/white is nice. The only thing I don't like is the blue stripe on the engines, but that's on all of V.Blue's aircraft.
