UA093 CVR Extracts Released

Sat Nov 17, 2001 3:19 am

Extracts from the UA093 CVR have been released. You can hear the pilot making his last call, the hijackers storming the cockpit and the controller trying to contact the 757 after it crashed.

Regards.

Correction, not the CVR -- the ATC recordings.

Pretty sickening.....

I wonder sometimes whether CVR excerpts should be released to the general public, or whether they should remain "classified."

Any opinions?

Nige considering it is just the ATC tapes not the transcripts (I tihnk people are confused as the hijacker went on frequency claiming he was the captain, when he wanted to go on the PA) it is not too bad, but still do the general public need to hear it? NO!

I think this press release from ALPA says it all... (..and I agree with them...)

And people wonder why we do not want cockpit cameras.

This is disgusting. I feel for the families of the crewmembers.
