Actually, according to information at American Airline's museum in Ft Worth, TX, they indicate that they were the first airline to serve fresh brewed coffee on board their aircraft. At least I think I remember them saying that....

DELL_dude wins first prize; 250 pounds of freshly
ground Maxwell House Coffee!

TWA was indeed the first airline to serve freshly brewed coffee on-board. We may think this is rather trivial, but imagine the stir it caused (pardon the pun) when
passengers were able to enjoy freshly brewed java on-board their flights for the first time.

I should have re-phrased the question. TWA is the carrier that served the first FRESHLY BREWED coffee
in-flight. Prior to this, carriers loaded already brewed coffee on-board, where it was re-heated, then served to the pax.

AFAIK, It was Imperial Airways from 1919 onwards on their London-Paris route. I think these services were called the "Golden Wing" service or some such.
