Aircraft That Have Worn Usaf VIP Colours?

Mon Nov 19, 2001 5:29 am

I was watching a National Geographic documentary last night about Air Force One. It is rather good - som good shots from on board. Anyway, during this, I thought I caught sight of a model DC-10 wearing Air Force One colours. Did such a thing ever exist?

This brings me to the second part of my question, which is what different aircraft over the years have worn USAF VIP colours (either the Air Force One scheme, or the similar VIP scheme)? Photos would be nice if possible.

Thanks for any help

The "DC-10" was a KC-10. The origianl KC-10 colors were slightly similer to the colors worn by the US presidential fleet.

Aircraft that have worn the Blue/Gold/White basic color scheme include, but are not limited to, the VC-137(707), VC-25 (747), VC-140 (L-1329), VC-32 (757) VC-12 (Beech King Air) and one VC-118 (DC-6A).

BTW, if the blue wraps around the nose, it is an official part of the presidential fleet. If not, it is part of the 89th VIP fleet at Andrews.

I don't care about the caps. I was just pointing out that this thread belongs in the Military Forum.  Smile
