I thought the new aircraft were wonderful. I flew N724SW and N744SW. 744 was less than a week old when I flew her. To compare, about 2 weeks earlier, I flew a two week old America West A320, N652AW. Generally aircraft interiors are quite airline specific, but I will generalize to the best of my ability. Overall, I found the 737NG to just generally be a nicer aircraft. Everything was spoltless and really felt 'quality.' While I dont question the quality of the build of Airbus aircraft, somehow the 73NG just felt much more 'solid' and well built. I must say however that I much preferred America West's A320 to those of Northwest. The coach seats were far more comfortable on HP than NW. SW's seats were quite comfortable as well and seemed comparable to any other domestic airline's coach class.
