AA is very lucky to have the hubs they currently have. I do not understand your question AA757. Their hubs are perfect.

BTW Cody, long time no see!!!

Hi First Class! I concur their present hubs are sufficient. I just want to see their route map look a little different. That's why I chose Reno.

I don't know about RNO...If I were AA, I would dump it, and put everything I (AA) have into SJC. You don't see too many of the businessmen traveling to RNO for a gambling trip...you see the businessmen traveling to SJC for their 'Silicon Valley' trip, and then on to Asia via the SJC-NRT flight.

I just don't get AA sometimes...they beef up scheds. to SEA, SJC, and RNO on the West Coast, and then they beef up scheds to BOS, JFK, and MIA on the East Coast...they are turning into USAir(ways) with their poor location of hubs.

Exactly what do you mean by poor location of hubs?

Reno Air has a hub in Reno, but it certainly is nothing like the size of American's hubs. Reno is a city of less than 100,000 people, and Reno Air only has about 35-40 departures a day there. SJC failed as an AA hub earlier, but I feel that it may work now. People are sick and tired of flying into SFO. SJC is also in a more central location. There are many more people living in a 30 mile radius around it, then SFO. San Jose now has half a dozen or so really great museums, and lots of nice restaurants, and hotels. It is now much more of a tourist destination, all though the primary crowd is still business.
