Are Southwest flights out of BUF popular with south Ontario residents? I was wondering if WN has taken any business away from Canadian carriers and whether people in Toronto will actually drive to BUF to catch WN instead of taking flights out of Pearson.
I often drive to BUF to catch cheaper fares, but never to fly on WN. I just found out today that WN flies direct to LAS, so I may check them out on my way to California, but their cheapest return is about $190- not all that different than skeds' seat sales. I've seen great deals on tix to California out of BUF for the longest time. Under normal circumstances, I can expect to pay $300 CDN even for flights to west coast. Try to pull that off with Air Canada at YYZ!
WN is however well known in the Toronto market, so it does enjoy strong market recognition even though it doesn't fly to Canada.
Apparently the JetBlue BUF-JFK flights are popular with Canadians trying to get to NYC cheaply. There is a 'buzz' in Toronto about JB. Mainly because seat sales are relatively rare to NYC making JB attractive I think.
I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.
I live in T.O. and am driving to BUF to catch a southwest flight direct to Las Vegas. I could not find a fare cheaper from YYZ. It could not even come close. With Canada 3000 gone the fares are ridiculous. Air Transat could not even compare. Long term parking at BUF is cheap as well, around $30 US for a week!
