LANChile Returns To Canada?

Wed Nov 28, 2001 4:19 am

A while ago, LANChile suspended services to Canada and allowed their licence to lapse. On November 26th, they asked for and had their licence re-instated.

Are planning to operate their own aircraft to Canada or are they contemplating a code-share service?

It would be great to see a LANChile A340 in YYZ. The demand is certainly there. The only connection to South America is provided by Air Canada's six weekly flights to GRU and EZE. Canada has a big Latino population so that would help too.

Initially look for a LA codeshare on AA's MIA-YYZ/YUL flights.

It is a codeshare with American Airlines. Their re-instated licence is valid from 2001 November 28 until 2004 November 27.

Routings will be:
LANChile Chile to Miami; American Miami to Canada
LANChile Chile to New York; American New York to Canada
