Airlines And Boeing

Wed Nov 28, 2001 8:06 pm

I can think of AA as having operated every single Boeing Acft. from the 707 onwards (717,727,737,747,757,767,777 regardless of version).. BA (except 717), LY (except for the 717, 727).

Who else am I missing?

Delta (except the 717)
United (Except the 717)
Continental (as above)
Air France (apart from 717, and 757)
Iberia (apart from the 777, and 717) (doesnt really count because most were charters)
Varig (apart from the 757, 717)
El Al (apart from the 717)

Thanks for the brain teaser, i quite enjoyed that!

Conversely, has there been a Boeing aircraft type that has been operated by ALL major US carriers at one point in time?

I'm guessing that the 727 might fit this criteria? Even Southwest flew a handful of them for a short time.

Singapore Airlines (B717 and B767)
Malaysian-Singapore airlines operated the B707 and B737...so...you can say that counts not!

Best Regards

With the exception of the 737, TWA has operated every Boeing jetliner, including the McDonnell Douglas built/design 717. Regards.

I don't believe that Delta operated the 707.

Whoops! You're right. I've completely miss the 777. Betcha TWA would have gotten some Triple 7s if they were on more solid financial grounds then. Regards.

Yes British Airways did operate the 727 although it was on lease from AmTran in the 80's , they also have a subsidary in South Africa called Comair who operate 727's in full BA colours

TWA was to order some 777s, but decided they couldn't pay for them, much less fill them...

Airlines and Boeing!
LH was the reason why the B737 finally got in the Air.
now the B737 is the most succesful Airliner ever built.
