A319's For Skyservice

Thu Nov 29, 2001 10:36 am

Hey All

Well it would appear some concrete info is finally cominging to light regarding the expansion at Skyservice.

Yes, they have picked up Conquest & Signature Tours from Canada as well as T&T Tours of Boston.
SSV (as of today) will operate 16 A320's (180 & 177 pax config) 2 A319's (144 pax config) and 1 A330 (387 pax config) for the upcoming winter season. Some of the aircraft are planned to be ex-C3 birds, pending approval of re-leasing, and the remainder will come Airtours. SSV still has delivery dates for 6 new A320's (they were supposed to be RootsAir a/c) and will be delievered with SSV interiors and paint. SSV's A330 C-FBUS will return from the UK in December to pick up the high load flights from YYZ (CUN, ACA etc).

The Boston flights are operating for T&T Tours to CUN and other sun spots.

Thats all I got for now, when I hear more I'll keeo you posted!!

Regards

Be careful you don't catch C3'itus. Keep Angus as far away from that airline as possible.

Agreed Slawko, keep Angus the hell away from SkyService.

It's great news for the carrier, showing potential during a downturn.

Why would Angus be involved in anything to do with SSV. He is too busy entering the witness protection programe!

How has SSV been doing? My guess is they're thriving in the space that C3 left behind. Any word on what their staffing situation is like? I want to apply to work there in some capacity, but y'know.....

I was thinking of applying at SSV too, but don't know if the time is right for me right now. I'm in a precarious situation, and if anybody (namely, rootsgirl) has any info, that would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, and hoping this thead doesn't die quickly, as they often do after I post!

Hey YQT, figured that things ran a little late, you know how it is when you are suddenly "expanding". I am off to YVR on Friday, get back late Monday, did you find out if you can make it for the Christmas party?

Rootsgirl, I worked as an FA for Royal/C3 since March, and I'm working on my pilot's license. Hence, the FA job pays for my license, or it did!!!

Thanks, I'll get my resume ready, and maybe one day I'll see you in the air!!!

Great news for my favorite (because they fly to YQG, and they don't use DHC-8s!) Canadian airline!  Big thumbs up

Sorry to go off topic, but does anyone know the departure and arrival times for SSV's winter flights from YQG (Windsor ON) to Cancun, Varadero, and Puerto Plata? And is there any chance that the new A319's will visit YQG as part of the Winter flights?
Thanks in advance!

RootsGirl I don't think I will make it to the X-mas party. Sorry!
I will be back down on Thursday and leaving on Sunday.

LY744:
You will probably not see the A319 in YGQ. The loads from there are very good, and I think you will mainly see the A320. But, stranger things have happened!!

Cheers!

Its great that SSV will expand to LAS, with another
YYZ/LAS flight.
Skyservice will also fly YYC/LAS and YVR/LAS.
All flights will be on A319 and A 320 Equipment.

Need some clarification on the status of SSV's fleet:

- How many A320's does SSV operate right now (not including upcoming ex-C3 and Roots-Air-destined a/c), that are not wetleased from another carriers? Could someone provide the reg. numbers for those a/c?
- Are those a/c dry leased, or are they owned by SSV?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Wg YQT,

Do you think SSV might fly to LAS on mon and fri, if there is not gate space at terminal 2 in LAS on thurs and sun?
I know the peak periods have already been alotted and the only other times are thurs and sun very late night arrivals and departures.

Effective Jan 1, 2002, Hawaiian Airlines will move all scheduled service flights to the smaller and more convenient Terminal 2.
All Passenger Service/ Ramp and Cabin functions will be handled by GlobeGround North America, a LH subsidiary.
