My first TWA flight was from JFK to FCO (Rome) in 1976. I was six years old and I remember very well, it was a Boeing 707.
My last 2 flights on TWA were in 1989, from JFK to London/Heathrow on a 747-100 operating as TWA flight 700. I was fortunate to fly in Royal Ambassador (First Class) in seat 1-A at the nose of the then very stylish 747-100, the pride and symbol of the TWA fleet. I returned about two months later on a TWA L1011 from Zurich to JFK).
In between, I flew TWA two or three times a year, to Europe (London, Paris, Geneva, Zurich, and Rome) as well as domestically, to Kansas City, Chicago, Orlando, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.
A wonderful airline. A proud and powerful symbol of America's aviation prowess. Farewell.
