70% load factor from 69.5 in 2000
Only major to report back to back increase

On time 86% november
On time PHX 89%
.5 cancelled

During the 6 day thanksgiving holiday
99.9 % completion rate
2.663 flights only 3 cancelled

Mishandled baggage down in the 3% range

Beats WN

I just received the report today...

HP is on its way to becoming a great airline thanks to the hard work of its employees.

All of them deserve a great pat on the back.

Way to go America West!! As a matter of fact, I was just reading that book From Worst To First about how Continental turned themselves around in a year. I hope that America West can do the same thing!!

I'm assuming you're talking about October on-time numbers since the full November stats for both airlines won't be out for a month.

On-time:
WN system-wide: 86.6%
HP system-wide: 83.1%

WN @ PHX: 89.1%
HP @ PHX: 88.4%

Yes, HP's mishandled baggage reports were dramatically lower *and* lower than Southwest's. And America West's load factor was higher than Southwest's - and they were the only carrier to post a higher load factor. BUT America West's November traffic was down 17.9% year-over-year while Southwest's was only down 1.2%. And which carrier had fewer complaints? That would be Southwest. Oh, and which airline laid off some of its hard-working employees?

America West *is* doing better. But WN is still beating them in several ways.

I agree too that HP definitely has some momentum going for itself. It is an airline with huge potential(esp. it seems like it's Columbus hub), and I hope to see them flourish All the best HP!
