AirNZ Has One Aircraft With Flat Beds In First...

Wed Dec 05, 2001 10:13 am

Hey guys just gonna tell yas for the people who say AirNZ is behind schedule, they have had an aircraft in the air for almost a year now with Flat beds in First Class!! This aircraft is a 744, and is used on AKL-LAX-LHR route.
It is only a trial thang, and shall be finished soon. They are collecting data from PAX to see what is best!

Talk to you soon!!

Well no... this just shows how far behind they sort of are dont you think?

If they are still trialing something proven by other airlines?

I dunno just what I got out of the post.

Obviously they like to get customer feedback before they commit to new innovations.

But then, all the anti-Air NZ kids will come along and ruin this thread again with their irrational drivel.

Well what i am saying is that they are ahead "sort of" as they were the first (i think) to actually have them up in the air for a trialing basis. And no it ahs not been proven a success yet.

Cheers

PS EVEN though it is pretty stupid to have them still on a trialling basis i agree. Because who would not want a flat bed in C??
LOL!

How can say it is not proven?
Are you saying that BA, SQ, CX, QF, UA etc. have rushed into their decisions and wasted their money on a product which is not wanted by passengers?

SOmehow I dont think they would do that.... considering it takes Qantas half a century to complete a project they would want to get it right first time.

LOL, no i am not saying that they have rushed into it, and QF donot have Flat beds YET!!
You said it was a success, yet no airline has been able to PROVE it is a success, they have not released any new information on if PAX loads are up from this innovation did they? So in my eyes, no it has not been proven, and no i am not saying any airline rushed into it!

Who cares about pax loads? If they can get more yields by charging higher prices for a better product, then they've done the right thing.

Your grammar is hard to read AirNewZealand, are you saying that QF doesn't have flat beds yet? Cos their entire fleet of B747-400's do...and the B747-400's is the only aircraft where First class is offered.

I believe ZK-SUH is the aircraft (working from memory here) - it's due to go back to the lessors early next year.

Although an updated F class would be nice, it's hardly high on the list of priorities. The only routes NZ offer F class on aren't stacked heavily with Asian bells and whistles carriers competing against them anyway.

Mikey,

It's 'grammAr', not 'grammer'  Smile

I don't think NZ is rushing to get out with F beds, although it'd be nice. Fortunately this thread hasn't been invaded (yet) by some.

Cheers,

Justin
