Do the AA Int'l 763's have PTV's in coach?

Thanks

I believe some of their A300s have PTVs (those used between the east coast and LHR, not the 2 class A300s used in the Carribean)

Are AA likely to install them on the 763's? Or will they (long term) replace them with 777's so PTV's are not needed?

As of now AA will not retrofit the 763 with PTV. However AA will take delivery of 10 new 763 next year that will be outfitted with PTV

Exactly right I heard some fellow pilots for AA talking about , they will recieve the 10 new 767-300 with the private t.v. feature. As of the moment they do not offer the private t.v. on any 767-300 flights . I havent heard of the AA A300 being outfitted with the ptv , but if you saw them , ill take your word. AA has the t.v's that come out from the ceiling on there intl flights. And also they are on the bulkhead . Enjoy your flight!

About 2 years ago I flew an AA 763 from Sao Paulo to Miami and it DID have PTV's at every seat in coach. The strange thing is it was not a whole system and the PTV only showed the exact same thing as was playing on the main screen. There were no controls either. I have been on many AA 763 aircraft and this is the one and only instance I have seen this. Possibly was a plane they bought from another carrier? Anybody else ever ride on that aircraft?

Wow , like I said in my previous post , I was under the impression that AA did not have PTV on there 767's. I would assume that they purchased the aircraft from another carier that used there PTV , to only be used with the main console.
Thanks for the information!

I know that the A300's 3 class have them, and maybe one of their newer 767's have them....but i doubt that, also all their 777 have them also

AA never bought any 767-300's from another airline, they all were delivered new. However, they did take delivery of 8 763's in 1998 & 1999, after the initial deliveries spanning 1988-1995. I've been on several 763's and have not seen them, if in fact you did that is news to us, and interesting too. The 3-class Trans-Atlantic A300's do have PTV's, they have the games features, unlike the 777's.

I am pretty shocked that there aren't any on them. I have flown on them a few times, knowing that there weren't PTV's. It's one thing for ORD-LAX, but since the vast majority of the 763 flights are over seas and in Latin America, I think it would make sense to outfit American's International workhorse with PTV's.

Nope not on the 767-300. Sao Paulo - MIA must have been on 777.

With the price of coach tickets these days, do not expect to see PTV's aboard the 767 300 aircraft soon. All 777's have them and maybe the new 767 300 to be delivered, albeit delayed, will too.

AA, UA and DL pulled out of Boeings Conextion PTV, In flight high speed internet, program too.

When the economy rebounds or coach fares increase, you'll see the PTV's every where. These systems are quite costly now. There has to be a ROI for inflight entertainment.

Maybe in Business and P class? Not coach in the near future.

Having flown Business Class on an AA 767 ORD-ZRH about 3 years ago, they did something clever. They have PTV's that they bring to you, and you can choose from a selection of movies to watch. Best of all, it doesn't cost anything(same with the headphones).
