I've searched many times for it, but have not had any luck. The best I can find are pages on websites about tourism in Tijuana that deal with transportation.

However, if you want to check schedules, you can go to oag.com and enter in the TIJ airport code along with those of other major mexican airports (MEX, CUN, HMO, GDL, MZT, SJD, etc)

TIJ doesn´t have a special website for the airport itself but you can find some information (if you know spanish) at the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico site.

http://www.grupoangeles.com.mx/aereo/gifaer/home.html

It doesn´t contain much information but I hope it helps.

What information are you looking for? maybe I can help since I live here......a couple of miles directly under the approach path for TIJ's only runway.

I am interested in what airlines serve Tijuana and also what destinations with what type of aircraft. If you know any of that, I would like to hear it.

Thanks vw

Go to oag.com, and search random Mexican airport codes, as I said. You'll find, for example, that MEX is served from TJ by at least Aeromexico (757s and Md-80s), Mexicana (A320s and 727s), and Aero California (DC-9s).

As far as international flights, AeroCalifornia flies daily to LAX (a 40 min flight in either direction on a DC-9-32, with fares sometimes as low as US$78.00 roundtrip).

Interestingly enough, Mexicana flies to between the two cites but only in one direction from TIJ to MEX with an A320. Flt. 936 operates Mo, Tu, Wed, Fri, & Sat., and flight 934 operates Mo thru Fri. Yhe flights are mainly for aircraft placement rather than to provide scheduled passenger ops.

AVIACSA discontinued service to LAS a while back and now serves only domestic cities.

Aeromexico operates a weekly charter service from TIJ to Havana with an MD-88. Its for a Mexican charter company that primarily caters to Americans wanting to visit Cuba.

Also, during the 9/11 crisis, I'm told that TIJ saw a Korean Air 744 that was on route to LAX from Sao Paulo. Can anyone confirm this, and if so know how long it stayed there?

TIJ also has a air rework type facility that does some maint work on 747's. They are in on occasion. I would be cautious about spotting at TIJ as the tend to be really touchy about security at times.

AVIACSA still flies to TIJ (their second largest market afer MEX), they just dont operate the non-stop to LAS anymore.

Allegro Airlines LAS-TIJ service has been discontinued, and will probably restart sometime in the spring.

In a past thread when I talked about Allegro´s turbulence, someone replay that there still flying LAS-TIJ.

And also Planenutz, you´re right I heard that around 4 747s on 9/11 where out of course and requested to land in TIJ. Also a B767-3 from Lan Chile in route to Santiago - Lax also landed on TIJ.

On 9/11 TIJ saw a 744 from Korean Air, the newspapers mentioned the flight was from Honolulu to LAX en route to Seoul.......is this true? does Korean have this flight?

The other plane was a Varig DC-10 (or MD-11 I'm not so sure) from Sao Paulo to LAX. Both flights got rerouted to TIJ when LAX and SAN closed on 9/11.

About 5 or 6 years ago I saw an AN-124 Ruslan land on TIJ, not so sure about the operator.

Ghost77:

Allegro Airlines is still flying LAS/TIJ.
I am a Passenger Service Agent and I checked the flight
in a week ago.
The flight is doing well.
LL569 departed LAS to TIJ, last night at 2200.

According to Allegro ops at MEX, LL569 is not a scheduled passenger flight. It operates on behalf of FunJet Vacations. Their financial difficulties resulted in the termination of scheduled service.

Also, in October Allegro discontinued service to San Francisco, and instead started serving Oakland to save money on landing fees and leasing costs.

LL569 is a SCHEDULED flight and not a charter.
These pax are Mexican Nationals on the flight.
Tickets are on ARC ticket stock.

Trust me, I checked them in and This was not a public charter.
