UA must have ended NRT-TPE later than 1995. I flew to NRT on UA 801 from JFK in November 1996 and I recall an announcement being made about connecting flights at NRT and TPE was a city mentioned. It is interesting to note that the UA 801/800 flight (JFK-NRT-HKG-NRT-JFK) will become JFK-NRT-TPE-NRT-JFK). United seems to be abandoning the JFK-HKG market, even with a stop over. They tried a nonstop in April-August 2001 but it didn't work out too well.
