Question On Lufthansa Online Fares

Sun Dec 09, 2001 5:18 am

I was just browsing through Lufthansas Online fares on their homepage and saw their so called specials.
When entering certain dates the prices show up with about twice or three times the amount of what they say. Why is this ?
e.g. a domestic flight is 130 Euro and when entering dates (weekend) it appears to be like 400 Euros.

Also does anyone know if their flights within Germany do have a minimum stay requirement ? It only says maximum stay is one night.

Thanks for your help

Most likely it is due to a lack of availability in the particular booking class for that special. Specials may only apply to certain flights as well.

All conditions are mentioned when you click on the specific destination (eg. Berlin). Eg.

"Innerdeutsches Wochenendspecial
Operating Carriers: (LH Logo)
Price: EUR141.00
From: Frankfurt/Main (DE)
To: Berlin (DE)
Departure Period: 01.12.2001 - 01.05.2002
Return Period: 02.12.2001 - 02.05.2002
Maximum Stay: 1 day
The outbound flight must be on: Saturday or Sunday
The trip must include: Saturday or Sunday
The return flight must be on: Saturday or Sunday
Bookable From: 27.11.2001
Bookable Until: 01.05.2002
Advanced Purchase Requirements:
Cancellation: not permitted
Change of Booking: not permitted"

It appears there is no minimum stay - not really possible when you're dealing with 1 day. This would probably only appeal for people who want to go on mileage runs if there were a minimum time, given that it is useless to business pax.

Ask this question at www.flyertalk.com in the Lufthansa Miles & More forum and you'll get some good responses.

Cheers,

Justin

Thanks a lot for your help Skystar. I appreciate it.
I think this would be a nice trip to take especially with changing planes in FRA or MUC.
Would also give me some miles.

I`ve booked yesterday night a LH flight from DUS to FRA for 270 DM (130 Euro) by internet. At the moment I`m sitting here at Terminal A at DUS and wait for boarding.

Yesterday I was in Milan, I`ve paid 311 DM (150 Euro) with Alitalia (no online booking, by telephone)

Wow, seems like you do quite a bit of flying Patrick, huh ? Are you doing it in order to go spotting at Frankfurt's visitor terrace ?

Hi B737-700 !

I`m back from FRA now. The trip was ok but a little bit to short, me and Herbman have flown from DUS to FRA at 14.35h (LH021) and back to DUS at 17.40h (LH066). Both flight were operated by a 320-200. The cabin and the check in crew were very unfriendly, but this is normal on LH flights.

Highlights at FRA: Air Algerie 737, LH Cargo 742 Time definite, two Air China 744 and LH`s A 319 LU.
