Newcastle!strength To Strength!

Mon Dec 10, 2001 9:16 am

Newcastle International Airport in the UK is on target for another interesting year. Several developments have occurred over the past months and the future looks interesting too. Here is a run down of the latest news from the north.

AIR SCANDIC
will return to NCL for the summer 2002 season after an excellent 2001. Air Scandic were the most punctual airline at NCL in the summer and hope to repeat this success. All services are operated by leased Finnair 757-200s, and are a welcome sight.

BRITISH EUROPEAN
THe Paris serice is performing very well, and may even be upgraded to a 146-300 a/c. The BHD service is also performing well, and will become a Q400 route in 2002. The BRU service is profitable, but the 146-100 will be replaced by a CRJ, based in BRU as of the 26th Dec. New for 2002 is a sched summer sat service to Jersey.

Great!!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
As I remember, SCY flights were usually arriving back in at NCL 20 or 30 minutes early most of the time.
Great to see the LH news  Smile

Really exciting with the LH news.

Now all they need is a FRA-BAH rotation like the old days and I'm sorted....

Yes, good news about NCL-LHR being put back to a 757.

Flying down tomorrow actually - listed as a 752 for the 1700 departure.

Used to love the A319s though - but they were obviously too small for the loads they were getting. Maybe when BA get some A321s they'll put them on.... Big grin
