Aircraft Fly Over Glasgow

can anyone tell me where the planes that fly over glasgow are comeing and going from please because they are not coming from gla and are at crusing altitude, and are passing all day.
i think they may be coming from and to

I just flew west of glasgow and Londonderry when i was on AC flight 888 from Ottawa to Heathrow on September 13th 2001. Boy was i pleased to get back from North America.

I live in Glasgow and have used powerful binocular before.
I have seen many aircraft including many British Ones, BA 747/777 presumably from London, plus also Lufthansa and SAS 767. They will all be heading for North America. It depends on the Atlantic ATC track as to whether you see them or not. Pan Am flight 106 would have headed up across Glasgow Area had it not exploded further south at Lockerbie.

The current NAT's are southerly at the moment.
