BA vs. VA

Sun Dec 06, 1998 2:33 pm

Seeing that we are discussing which airline is "better" between SWA and AWA, what are your feelings on British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways. I personally love them both.

They are both very good airlines. But Virgin is cheaper and that normally decides itfor me. But I think that Virgin will become bigger than BA in the future.

Yes, Virgin is cheaper "sometimes" but not always.
However, BA is one of the worlds great air carriers.
They have a proud history in commercial operations all over the world.
Better? who's to say but BA certainly has a long and proud tradition behind it.
VS has got all of Bransons bucks behind it. lol
Ive heard alot of passengers say VS packs em in.
Their coach class sections have more seats than any other carrier. What good is having your own video unit
if the person next to you is just about in your lap? lol
No hard feelings here. At 6:30pm local time in London my flight, BA and VS are all heading for 27R at the same time. lol
Oh, VS is Virgins official ICAO ident.

BA is a much larger, you really cant compare them. Personally I go for BA, they have diverse routes and a better fleet structure.
727, L1011, MD80, A300, 777-200, 737-300, 737-700, 747-400, 757-200, 737-800, A320. E190, E135, 767-200, CRJ9

I like British Airways because it has a long proud standing aviation tradition. I also like them because they operate mostly Boeings, and because they are the worlds largest 747-400 operater. Their fleet and route structure are also superb. I like Virgin Atlantic because it has come far from operating one 747-200 between Gatwick and Newark. By next year, they will operate 1 747-100, 12 747-200, 7 747-400 and 12 A340-300. Correct me if I am wrong.

Virgin, without any doubt!!!
BA is a monstrous airline, and can give no real personnal service, just like the giant American ones (AA, UA,NW,...)
Also, Virgin uses the A340 (way better than B...)
They are much more innovative (massage in Top class)
and... last but not least: THEY SERVE VIRGIN COKE on their flights! (so much better than Coca Cola or Pepsi) (I sound like a commercial, I know)
