I Hate To Burst The BA Bubble, But...

Mon Dec 17, 2001 3:53 pm

Everyone bitched and moaned about the loss of BA's "World Images" program.

However, they were not the first airline to adopt a "different tail" program. I would have to say that Mexicana should have been deserving of that honor. Why hasn't anyone talked about the loss of each of these tails when MX adopted the bland green tail?

(BTW, I am aware of Frontier, but the MX program came and went before Frontier II was born).

I think that it is a pity that these 'different tails'' schemes went / are going - I kind of liked them.

Too expensive to maintain. You should also check these tails on Mexicana's DC-10s and 727s.

Mexicana has different colors, and maybe a slightly different patttern, but what BA did was by far the most in your face tail changes!

Should never have had different tails though - one airline should have 1 tail design - It's hard enough to identify all the airlines without eachone have loads of tails!

Although I also liked them they're probably counter-productive to establishing a 'corporate identity'.

Those Mexicana tails still have a firm indentity, unlike some of the crap they put on our tails.

When Mexicana decided to paint the tails all green, they should of kept the design like this
