Widebody Freighters Originating From BYH

Tue Dec 18, 2001 7:41 am

I was messing with the flight tracker in the office today, and noticed a ton of widebody freighters originating from there (Blytheville, AR). There were Evergreen and Atlas 747's, Air Transport DC-8's and a Gemini Cargo DC-10.

I'm guessing it was part of the holiday rush, but who's sorting facility is there?

Also, there was a 747 operating with a FedEx callsign, FDX 78 I think. Anyone know who this was?

BYH has a large freight sorting facility located on the field. From what I heard, its only used during the Christmas rush... I believe its operated by Kitty Hawk.

And Atlas is doing some sub-service for FedEx, so thats why you seen the B74F with a FedEx callsign.
