747-200 For Kampuchea Airlines

Kampuchea Airlines have purchased a 747-200 from Boeing, the aircraft was formerly owned by British Airways Smile

Now Orient Thai have a 742 (Ex JAL), and Kampuchea ex BA.

I saw the Orient Thai 747 at BKK a couple of weeks ago.
Mostly white. I wish it was more colourful.

Jan,

Did you see it while in the cockpit of S7-RGM ??? . I saw you depart from CLK while I was with the guy taking video for JustPlanes. Got a nice pic of it.

Cant see you though !!

The orient Thai is HS-UTP, ex JA8114 *I THINK*

The Kampuchea 742 is probably G-BDXB which positioned out to China in the last week or two.

Ok Jan.

When did G-BDXB go to China ?? . About two months back I think G-BDXB was due to arrive in Hong Kong. At the last minute they cancelled the flight and that was it.

I saw it in BKK as well, from the cockpit of S7-RGM on one of the flights I did with them.

Did Jeff get any good footage of us coming into CLK ???
If you did get a shot of us, can you post it or email it to me ? Would be fun to see...

I don't think he got any footage at all!! We were standing at Rwy 07 threshold and you came in on 25R!!! They switched runways on us and I think yours was one of the first arrivals after that!!!

G-BDXB was "retired" to Kemble airfield originally, when 747's go here they dont fly out again usually their chopped up! But this one was given a reprieve and flew back to LHR and then on to Xiamen on 5th Dec.

Apparently this one has a lot of hours on it so it probably would have been best to cut it up Big grin

MAI was the FIRST arrival on 25R !!

My picture was of you departing, If I had a scanner (that worked) I worked send it to you or even post it here (If I could pass the airliners.net test !!!)

If BDXB has a lot of hours on it, then it would be cheap, which would be a prime candidate for use by an airline like Kampuchea!!
