Air Canada 747-400?

Sat Dec 22, 2001 5:50 am

I am flying Business class on Air Canada from BOS-YVR-NRT on a 319/747-400 respectively on Dec 25th and was wondering if anyone has any info on what to expect in the 747. I have flown AC's business class on the 319 and the 330 before, and was VERY impressed by the seats in the 330, can I expect similar? Howabout inflight entertainment? Thanks!

Air Canada uses the ex-Canadi>n Airlines B-747-400 on the YVR-NRT route. The seating in Executive First Class (formerly Empress Class on Canadi>n) is extremely comfortable. AC has yet to change the seats on these ex-CP aircraft. So expect a very comfortable ride!!
The ONLY thing I am not crazy about was the odd choice of Canadi>n Airlines to refit their interiors with grey seats. The grey has specks of gold, but still, I much rather preferred the old CP navy blue seats.
Still, VERY comfy seats, more comfy than the AC aircraft.

Air Canada Executive First in-flight cuisine is actually quite delicious. You will have a choice of up to 4 entrees, and their selections of wines are superb.
Infligght entertainment is the individual passenger video screen at each seat, with a wide selection of films and specialty channels. Pretty good.

I wish you a safe and pleasant journey to NRT!!!

Canadi>n Boy,

Thanks for the feedback, as one who doesn't get the chance to fly first internationally often, I was excited to hear a little bit more about ACs offering. Wondering if anyone else had any comments on how AC's Trans-Pac service/cabins stack up to American carriers on similar routes (e.g. UA, DAL, CO).. Thanks a bunch!

Hello there
Well I have flown on air Canada Executive First from YVR-YYZ and then Executive Class from YYZ-YYT. I have to say that they were amazing flights. On the way up to Vancouver was an A-319. From YYT-YYC Then on toe YVR. The service was out of this world. Then on the way back was the old 747-200 just before it was retired. Very roomy seats. Almost recline into a bed. WOW then the entertainment was second to none. Food was delicious. First part was a Salad. Strange name on it I cannot remember. But was very nice. Then had a sort of beef. again some really strange name on that as well. Very nice with spiced tomatoes, and these little Potatoes that were cut in the shape of Roses. Now I felt really bad eating them cause it took someone soo long to actually make them look that way. then had a lemon sorbet, with the last part being Almond sponge cake with a smothering of Chocolate Ganache!! God what a flight. I have to say the wine selection was great as well. and liquors after wards. Was a very nice flight. But still not as good as Roots Gold Class. ( sorry had to put that in there  Smile )
Hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip to NRT. Take care

Ariegel

Word of advice: When selecting your seat on-board in
Executive First, the main deck "A" cabin is your best bet. It is more spacious than the upper deck, where I always feel somewhat claustrophobic. But, that's just me, and my personal opinion.
