Stuff Made Out Of Airliners

Fri Dec 28, 2001 6:54 am

I was going through some of the millions of old aviation magazines in my attic the other day, and I ran across something interesting. In the back of an old Air & Space magazine, there was an advertisement offering aluminum pens and pencils made from actual airliners. Included with each pen and pencil was documentation stating the serial number, type, etc of the airliner your pen was made from. They were a bit expensive (I think around $75 or so), but they were pretty damn cool.

Do any of you have any idea if these (or stuff like this) is still available? I've been looking on Ebay, but have had no luck.

Thanks!

Some years ago you could buy a desk (!) made of the skin of ex-Lufthansa planes. It was something like US$ 20000. But it sure looked great.
