Does anyone know the difference between a -62 and -63? Which model is a better freighter? Thanks

The 63 is the long one, carrying around 50 tonnes with excellent volume. The -62 has an excellent range, but only carries around 40 tonnes. The -61 carries a similar payload to the -63, but over a shorter distance.

The choice depends entirely on what you want to carry, and from where to where.

I was reading about the DC-8 'Super 60/70' series recently and the article said that during the 70s (during the oil embargo) that Series 63 freighters were in such high demand that they were being sold (used) for more then what what they were sold for new from Douglas!
