Changes With Qantas

Fri Jan 04, 2002 11:28 pm

i have some queries..... SIA stops flights into cairns.
now, going straight into cairns from sin is not very convenient becoz only qantas flies there. however, things got worse. now, qantas had stop flying to cns, and to fly from sin, 1 have to go thru either
sin-bne-cns, or
sin-hkg-cns..
issit becoz of the going to be newly start up airline?
and i think that the system with QF is getting very troublesome with the change of aircraft in sin.
what do you guys think about it?

Well I guess because Cairns is a leisure market the flight never made money evan thought they might have been full hence the suspension of both SQ and QF. Australian is to take up this route. QF hub in SIngapore because it works for them . You can always fly Sin to DRW on QF and connect thru there.

Qantas are starting up Australian Airlines in Cairns in September this year.
They shall be flying from Cairns to Singapore as far as I know.

This may be the reason Qantas withdrew from the route - perhaps it was unprofitable?
