Austrian Airlines A340 At FRA Today

Sat Jan 05, 2002 10:58 pm

When I was spotting at FRA today, I saw an Austrian Airlines A340-300 (OE-LAK) arriving at 13.36 central european time.
Later the plane was parked at Terminal 1B.

Does anybody have further information about the reason why that A340 came to Frankfurt?

I would appreciate your replies!

Regards, Daniel

Hello,

That's an interesting piece of information.

BTW, what OS A340 is currently stored please?

Thank you,

Best regards,

Is there any Austrian Airlines expert who knows why OE-LAK visited Frankfurt today?

Maybe it is in FRA for a regular check. (OS stopped heavy maintenance some years ago and they had sent some of their 340s to FRA in the past)

The Austrian A343 was at FRA for a charter flight to GIG.
Departure was Yesterday after a ferry-flight from VIE to FRA. The AUA returns from Rio today and will depart back for VIE tonight or tomorrow morning (Shedulded for 14:45, but it wasn't so)

As T-Bird already mentioned, the aircraft is operating a charter flight to Rio de Janeiro (GIG). It will then return to FRA for another flight to Cape Town (CPT), then head back to Vienna via FRA.

funny that OS flies to FRA to do a flight from there while Star partner Lufthansa has a few planes parked in FRA...

confirmed! Like my buddy T-Bird said, it was a charter flight to GIG. The pictures turned out very well  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

You guys should have seen what happend in the afternoon. About 20 spotters prepared their cameras when we saw her taxiing from the gate to the runway, and suddenly she turned away and stopped. I should have taken pictures of all these angry looking faces Big grin
