Southwest Plane In Mud At SMF

Mon Jan 07, 2002 9:10 am

For those who are curious, I heard at work today in op's that it was aircraft N696SW that slid off at SMF. Today it was ferried from SMF to PHX for maintenance and will be returned to service within a week.

Yesterday, around 1:30pm, 696 was taxiing to the gate at SMF from SAN on a wet runway, when the brakes were applied to turn off the taxiway. The plane slid into the mud. Nobody was hurt and the pax were deplaned there. I heard today in Op's that the plane went to PHX this afternoon for some maintenance. Take care

Hi guys,

I posted a link to a sacramento TV station on another thread about the incident.

I got my words twisted by some fool in a reply, but I think you'll find the link interesting. Don't forget to check out the video. Very informative.

Thanks for the update SJCguy. I was wordering if they had got it out yet.
