Great work showing the transition from DL1011 to Hewa Bora1011! Poor Hewa Bora. If they waited they could probably pick up one of the thousands of new ( newer) a/c sitting in the American desert. How about a Hewa Bora 744!

Wow! I rode on the retirement flight of this aircraft from Atlanta to Victorsville. Glad to see it didn't go to the scrap yard.

Great to see it flying again!!  Smile

I love the TriStar. I flew on it for the first time recenatly on Air Transat from YYZ-LGW. I also flew a DC-10 a while ago and I think the TriStar is a lot more refined, although I do like the DC-10.....

It's too bad there aren't more of these planes, progress I guess....

Good to see the L1011 flying! Does anyone know what the fate of Delta's N737DL is? I saw her last in FLL in June.

I saw this one at JNB approximately one month ago, so there is one of its destinations.  Smile

Once these airplanes reach Africa, their fate is pretty much sealed... These guys will probably operate for couple of months in the worst, and couple of years in the best case... In other words, the a/c will be abandoned in some new war on some runway, waiting for the 'other' guys to come in and thrash it...

Sad.

Hewa Bora intends to operate another ex Delta Tristar in april 2002 : ex N767DA.
The flight to Liege was a charter flight for the Christmas holiday. According to some rumours they will start a scheduled service between Kinshasa and Liege or Brussels since Sabena went bankrupt.
You can find more info on their website http://www.hba.cd

The same company also owns the -500 which has been sitting outside Associated at Dallas Love for years, waiting to be converted to a VIP fit. Looks like they preferred to go with an existing one!

Having been on board this aircraft, I can say that it's a truly impressive one with a comms centre that ET could phone home with - and a very elegant, beautifully designed and completed interior.

According to Bill Harms site, HZ-AB1 is owned by Prince Abdul Aziz Al-Ibrahim. Al-Anwa Establishment boss ?
