Flying During Day/Night?

Tue Jan 15, 2002 6:15 am

Is it better to fly during the day when you can see all the aircraft clearly or is it better to see them at night when you can just see the windows lit up?

Do you prefer to fly on an airline during the day or in the evening? I didn't think it was that hard to understand.

How about a long haul flight which leaves at night and arrives in the morning (or v.v) so you can get to fly in both day and night !!
cathay pacific, now you're really flying

Night...the air is usually smoother.

as a flight attendant, i like both ..

i love red eye flight. because, passengers are going to be asleep, it will be kinda quite, and work will start as soon as the sun comes out. when we will have to provide the service of breakfast.

On the other hand, when we fly back to Dubai from London or Frankfurt. we take off in the afternoon and then land at night, its interesting to see the sunset and passengers trying to take their naps.

I love flying any time. And every time has its own taste!

I like looking out the window at the cities, highways, and terrain, and trying to figure out where I actually am enroute. You can't really do that at night.

I love flying at night.

True, flying in the day has its advantages(seeing other aircraft from the air for example), but at night, it seems smoother, and I tend to feel like I am really going somewhere far. I like to look down and see the city lights, and depending on what route I am flying, I can usually take an educated guess at the city with all the lights. Plus, you don't have the ever blinding sun going in through the window.
