Question About Air India Office At Bombay Airport

Wed Jan 16, 2002 12:34 am

I suspect Sean will be able to answer this but if anyone out there knows I would appreciate a quick reply.

I am flying to Bombay from Singapore and then travelling Bombay - Goa on Air India. The domestic ticket has been booked and paid for in India. Something called a PTA ?!?

Anyways I need to give the Air India people in Bombay the details of the booking and have them issue the ticket at the airport. Where is the Air India office in the international airport? And is it open all night?

Also the ticket is booked for Coach class. Can I pay the fare difference and have it upgraded to Business?

Thanks in advance for the replies

There are three carriers on the BOMGOI route.
Air India does not fly it, but you're probably with Indian Airlines.
They have a website:-

http://indian-airlines.nic.in/vsindian-airlines/seat/default.htm

which should help you.

A PTA is a Pre Paid ticket Advice.

If you have the Passenge Name Record of your booking, you can do a PNR check on the website.

Looks like IA have offices in BOM airport.

I bought a one way ticket once from Jet Airways at the airport in Mumbai. It was a bussines class ticket from Mumbai to Goa. The price difference was about 500Rs to a economie ticket.

Sean's answers are:

a) AI most definitely DOES fly the BOM-GOI segment with A310s
b) The AI counter will be located on the left between the exit form the sterile customs area and the exit from the terminal.

Ideally, however, you should contact the AI staff in the TRASNSIT area for guidance- because they may be able to get you to clear customs in GOI instead of BOM and issue the tix inside the sterile customs area.

Finally, BOM-GOI-BOM is the most popular route for commuting crew.  Smile

Hop that helps you out!
