Wed Jan 16, 2002 10:35 pm

I tried to find a photo of a 727 with thrust reversers deployed on this website but I didn't manage to find one... so I ask this forum !

Yes....they are internal. Those grates on the back third of the engine is where the exhaust exits the cowling.

So we can't see them from the exterior, not like MD80 reverse thrusters ?

I thought engines 1&3 had clamshell type reversers which are quite obvious when they operate?

I should qualify that statement a little.

I did see those type of buckets installed in two cases of 727. One was footage of the prototye. The other was the Super 37 conversion that goes over to the -200 engines in the 1 and 3 positions.

The internal type reversers are behind the grates in these tail shot
