RE: Air Canada Regional To Lease 6 CRJ's

And bringing back the 10 BAe 146, as the article says.
Makes sense to me. It was a big gap between the CRJ and A319.

Interesting that the want to split 6 CRJ100/200 between 4 operators. Doesn´t make much sense IMO. Even more interesting that the BAe146 is back in the fleet. Seems that they will be around for some time now.

Remember that most of their Collective agreements have been combined into one - I expect that AC will announce the "new" combined AC Regional soon. I has heard this was going to happen a while back but have heard nothing yet.

So, Dash 8 service could be upgraded in some markets?

The CRJs are second-hand, ex Midway.

Actually it is 4 airlines that will eventually be one airline. ACR will be operating these planes, and they will probaby be used on the US runs, out of YVR and YYZ, or maybe even the YHZ-BOS type runs. THis is just step one, I'm sure there will be more planes comming soon.

The article mentions the retirement of the F28's, where out west they are abundant. What time frame are we looking at with regards to the retirement (I know some have already gone), and I think it possible these new CRJ's will help fill the immediate void left by the F28's demise.

thanks

The remaining F28s are suppose to be gone by the end of 2002. These 6 RJs are just the beginning. It's only a matter of time before the 25 mainline CRJs get transferred to ACR.
