WARNING

Is the airline you are travelling with a Quality Approved Airline.....

If NOT why NOT ?

January 14th 2002 was the launch date of the Quality Approved Airline programme for the world airline industry.

Based on Skytrax quality analysis of front-line standards for over 250 carriers, the Approved Airline status identifies airlines delivering a good quality of Product and Service to the customer - in the most Consistent manner.

Associated with the Star Ranking programme launched in 2001, Quality Approved Airline status provides the passenger with an easy to use system of airline selection.

Quality is "in the eye of beholder" and quality perception is dependent on the original expectation.

The Skytrax Approved Airline programme applies a rating format that provides a unique, worldwide reference system.

Approved Airline status is not restricted to major international carriers, but applies equally to a small regional airline that may only operate a handful of domestic routes - the key to Approval is an airlines' quality performance and consistency of its customer service.

My pure speculation:
These airlines must be paying Skytrax some money to get listed. I don't mean that bad airlines can get listed by paying bribe but I would say that even a very good airline won't even be mentioned without payment.

Exactly...just like the so-called "Leading Hotels of the World" award. I was in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia when a new hotel was slated to open next to the new Faisaliya skyscraper. Before it even opened it had a "Leading Hotels of the World" plaque affixed to the exterior.

I agree with skysuites_sq that the correct list of Quality Approved Airlines was not just 8 but a list which skysuites_sq has posted.

I have noticed that Singapore_Air eliminated CX and others from HIS list as he has something against CX. What is the matter with you Singapore_Air? Why aren't you honest with your posting? This type of attitude will not take you very far in the aviation industry especially at SQ where you want to work in some form or shape.

To anyone following this continuing saga, Skytrax is adding to the "approved" list on a gradual and constant basis - the list today is not the same as the list yesterday, which explains the discrepancy between Singapore Air's list and what is currently showing. It'll be even longer tomorrow. Please let's not start another endless SQ vs CX food fight.

It's another meaningless award or qualification.

Hoffa: Leading Hotels Of The World...

Fri Jan 18, 2002 1:16 am

...is the BRAND name of a group of hotels and smaller hotel chains, pure marketing, whether they deserve it or not just doesn't matter that much (there is a checklist of items a hotel must fulfill in order to be a "Leading Hotel of the World", it just doesn't have much to say (see www.lhw.com).
Regards
Andreas

btw: Some of the undoubtedly really best hotels of the world are members of other Hotel chains, i.e. Shangri-La Bangkok, Railways (Sofitel) Hua Hin; other hotels are Leading though they have long ceased to deserve it (Mandarin Oriental Hongkong)
I know it's only VfB but I like it!
