Do AA/BA Codeshare On Shorthauls?

Thu Jan 17, 2002 12:46 pm

I was wondering if American and British Airways codeshared with each other on inter-european flights and US/Canada/Latin America/ and domestic flights.

Yes, they probably do.

I know for Skyteam they codeshare onjust about every flight.

Even on ATL-CLE you will hear "Air France flight XXX and AeroMexico flight XXXX"

No and they are not allowed to since the BA-AA alliance has not received antitrust immunity. Also, Frequent flyer miles may not be earned on each other's transatlantic flights.

That said, if you are wanting to fly to somewhere only BA serves, AA will be only too happy to oblige.

I don't think antitrust immunity matters here. They are in the same alliance (OneWorld) and have agreements with airport lounges, etc..
