Hawaiian Air Question

Sat Jan 19, 2002 9:33 am

I think I know the answer to this question, after doing searches (on the picture portion of a.net), but I am still curious ... does Hawaiian use only 717s for inter-island flights? or do they ever use 767, like from Hilo to Honolulu?

Thanks, or "mahalo", in advance  Smile

717 only on inter-island.

767 to SAN, LAX, And SFO.

On occasion, they've used the DC-10's interisland. That must have been cool....island hopping in a DC-10!

Yes, we have on occasion used the -10 interisland. Usually when there's a huge surge in travel (holidays) or when our ancient fleet of DC-9's had too many planes in maintenance.

They haven't used the 767 interisland yet, but that may change if the need arises.

One DC-10 can sure clear out a crowded interisland terminal though!  Smile
One smooth landing is skill. Two in a row is luck. Three in a row and someone is lying.

flew the UA DC-10 interisland ten years ago. It seems funny when you spend twice as much time boarding--40 mins--then twice as much time deplaning--about 30minutes. The actual flight time was 20 mintues to Maui.
