Does BA Fly Its 'Asia' Planes Only To Taiwan?

Sat Jan 19, 2002 11:41 pm

British Asia Airways was created specifically for its flights to Taiwan. Do they fly them elsewhere or are they reserved for this route?

What about the 'Aisa' planes of other airlines?

i'm not really sure about this, but i think KLM Asia operates their 747's also only to Taipei, via Bangkok

But i've seen a lot of pics of KLM Asia aircraft at other airports, and those airports are not in Asia at all!!

BAA also operates to HKG. Well, that is Asia. They stop enroute LHR-TPE there.
Have been flying KLM asia on the AMS-CPT route twice now, so it's not only for the routes to Taiwan!

British Asia Airways 744s have also visited MIA. They are not only used to TPE, but all flights to TPE are British Airways Asia. Won't matter much longer, however. BA is pulling out of Taipei this March.

If you check the photos here and select 'British Airways' and 'BOS' you will find a picture of a British Asia 747-400 that stopped through here once.

I've seen it a couple times at YVR. Man, Chelsea Rose is a kick-butt tail!

If you do a search of the photos with BA and Taipei in the search fields, you'll see that BA does not only send BAA planes to TPE, but their regular 747s as well.
