Do you know why the left engine on the Caravelle has black smoke or exhaust and the right doesn't?

A question about the last photo: Are those 2 planes really on a safe distance? For me it looks kind a scary...

And as already pointed out by Kris - look at the other pictures of the same Caravelle - the left engine produces black smoke on all of them - is it normal? Or are those pictures made just one after another and it is a coincidence?

The black smoke on the caravelle can simply be explained: It's the same plane!

Its just an old plane, and the right engine is in better shape then the left !!

The Caravelle, why else would he be out there? Don't know what aircraft he is in, but it is most likely modified for photography in some way.

Its ok to be so close!

Try the fact it looks like its just shot of the end of the runway !!!!!


Jan is in a HS748 of Air Gabon if I remember correctly.
