Hmm...based soely on route structure skyTeam is much better across the Atlantic, but, overall, I think oneWorld wins in coverage. They are not as strong across the Atlantic, but have a better intra-Europe schedule, IMO. Plus SkyTeam does not come close to oneWorld in Latin America and Oceania. OneWorld also has slighly better coverage to Asia. SkyTeam is better to Africa, though, despite BA's extensive African network. Both lack one thing Star does, however, when it comes to route structure, and that is true alliance hubs where everyone comes together in one place. Star is building one at MIA, and that is just the first of many to come. Alliance hubs (and I am not talking about alliance hubs were DL is in terminal H and AF is in terminal C) are going to be important to making alliances run for efficiently, and I hope Sky and One follow up with Star's model (Sky technically does have all thier ATL operations under one roof though; and is merging all thier MIA operations, but MIA is not a hub).
