Question About Insurance Aircraft

Thu Jan 24, 2002 4:10 pm

If the ABC Airlines lent to the NMO Airlines (wet-lease aircraft) for a while then return to ABC Airlines. If NMO Airlines is using aircraft. The NMO is responsible for paying insurance what if the plane get damaged or crash written off not ABC Airlines' insurance. Who is responsible for insurance for wet lease?

On an ACMI (wet) lease, the 'I' stands for Insurance, so you can see that the lessor is responsible for hull insurance. The Lessee is responsible for passenger/bagage and cargo cover, though.

So in your scenario, ABC would be responsible for the insurance.
