Copenhagen-Toronto?

Sun Jan 27, 2002 5:42 am

hi,
is AC restarting this service? I was looking for a flight on SAS from Stockholm to Toronto on May and I found that there's a non-stop Copenhagen-Toronto in May.
If so that's great news.

YES! AC is restarting their CPH-YYZ 762 service for the summer.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.

Really Mark?

This R status must have been quite recent.....maybe they are changing their minds (again).

Well, far be it for an airline based in a Latin city like Montreal to understand a teutonic route such as YYZ-CPH.

hahaha

Yyz717 - AC may be based in Montreal but I'll bet most of the decision makers (if not all of them) are from cities located far away from the culture of Quebec. We often wonder if AC understands the Montreal market.  Smile

So they still don't have a direct flight in May??
Hope that some carrier will run this route.

Lundqvist......if AC does not operate CPH-YYZ this summer, you can be sure that a charter carrier will step in.....the YYZ-CPH market is large enough to support charter or sked service

But which charter would step in, either SSV or TS, but I think you can count TS out..

I think CPH was more of a gateway to the Scandinavian countries, and as that, Air Canada filled their planes up as such.....

But you know what YYZ717, I was checking the schedules out and AC882 was suppose to start on Apr7. Its been put to R status until the 1st of June, so theres a slight possibility that youll see the route once more, but with the addition of routes like DUB, AMS and MAD, I doubt youll see CPH back.....if so, then you can talk about over-capacity..

Yes, CPH is the primary gateway to Scandinavia. But there are tons of Scandinavian-Canadians (like me!) mostly in Western Canada though for which there would be a captive market for any YYZ-CPH service. The 3 weekly YYZ-HEL 752's were always full last summer.

Hi,
Thanks for the information. Finnair sounds good. I really don't like tranfering in large cities aeroport. What is the price range though? I couldn't find it on their site or yahoo.

Pardon my apparent ignorance, but what is R status? I don't recall ever hearing that term before.

Restricted traffic status. basically airliners accept bookings from travel agents on the non-stop, and re-direct them on connecting flights. But when you look on an airline res.system, the flights will all show No Availability..

Avionic - sadly full doesn't always mean profitable.
