Does jetBlue opperate out of the same gates as WN (Southwest) at OAK? I would love to photograph some of their aircraft taxiing in and out and at the gates on my trip to SAN from OAK on WN on February 22nd.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

I wish JetBlue would come to texas, if only because I enjoy seeing A320's! Let's see how low southwest can really go (I love southwest too, but after seeing ten gazillion 737's everyday I need some variety. I love seeing those frontier airubes, planes don't get much cooler looking than that, IMO). I wonder what WN would do if B6 started operating out of DFW, IAH, AUS, or SAT?

That would take some guts on jetblue's part and it would probably be a dumb business decision, but hey, I can dream!

Does jetBlue opperate out of the same gates as WN (Southwest) at OAK?

The majority of Southwest's flights out of OAK are from Terminal Two, while jetBlue's gate is at the far end of Terminal One, but the last time I was in OAK, back in August, 2001, I noticed that Southwest is also using Gates 12 and 17 in Terminal One. If I remember correctly, jetBlue's gate was adjacent to Southwest's Gate 17.

Are there any chance for Jetblue to start service to ANC? I wish they came up here.

They could come up from JFK non-stop, those A320's have a long range!

Comments appreciated.

The A320 has long range, but it can't do ANC-JFK. That's over 2900nm, and JFK-OAK is 2200nm or so and they have a hard time making that (weight restrictions etc).

With the build-up that Jet Blue will start at LGB, do you think that their service to ONT will be axed? There used to be two daily to JFK before 9/11 but now there is only one a day. Does it make much sense to have a hub in Long Beach and have one daliy flight out of ONT? Or do you think that they will add more flights to ONT? Maybe if they keep the route American will start flying it too like what they just did in OAK.  Yeah sure

Isn't the drive from ONT into the LGB area close to 2 hours in traffic?

I doubt that JetBlue will consider Mid America airport as it doesnt seem to have the potential yet to become a destination. JB must really service places it knows it CAN make a profit, ad im not sure it would in St Louis....but you never know, this is the airline industry.

Yeah jetBlue is doing very well out of Long Beach. I have heard that they will drop ONT and focus on LGB instead.

Wow! I might have to go to ANC to get some sweet snow shots of them. But why fly there from JFK? Is there a big enough market??

Sheesh...hasn't this been mentioned already?

How are they going to start ANC service with the A320 from JFK?

It's not going to happen anytime soon, especially with the competition out of ANC.

I wish them the best of luck on the JFK-SJU route as AA will dump fares and they are an established airline in this route. It's their biggest route out of San Juan and they won't let JetBlue take market share away from them. JetBlue better start advertising and let the people know they are going to Puerto Rico cause nothng has been announced over there.

Gullible

Fri Feb 01, 2002 3:17 am

My gosh are some people on this board gullible. Have none of you heard of sarcasm?

Would it have been more clear if N509JB had said that JetBlue was going to open ONT-HKG?

Well, Chepos, they just announced the JFK-SJU route about 50 minutes ago, so you have to give them a chance, OK? Service begins May 30.

Chepos, JB press release announces first JFK San Juan flights for May 30, with prices from 129 to 299 USD.
Then they will have plenty of time to do all the required advertising.
You say thaat AA will dump fares. What is their current fare? And is dumping legal in the USA?

Jetblue has done a great service for the flying public. Serving SJU will be a success. Let's face it, how long can AA lose money on the route in their current financial situation?

Jetblue will do what it takes to be successful on that route. Why pay huge amount of cash for a flight on AA when you have Jetblue? I hope that New Yorkers support their hometown airline.

I would like to see Jetblue serve Seattle from Southern California and perhaps Hawaii from Seattle if permissible.

Perhaps Jetblue can open service to ATL or ORD?

You could cut the sarcasm in N509JB's post with a knife...
They have mentioned wanting to serve one of the Chicago airports, but I doubt it would be ORD because of the high traffic delays and all that.
ATL is on the proposed list, or was before they opened, but I don't see it happening. There are too many low fare flight to NY from ATL, and the delays at ATL are horrible.

FLL-SJU please. At least that route is very realistic.

It is realistic and the low fare airline (Spirit) currently on the route is not doing very good keeping low fares . It charges $184 each way between FLL and SJU, it's cheaper to fly AA.
