HA Used To Operate MD80s?

Thu Jan 31, 2002 1:54 pm

I came across a few pics of Hawaiian Air MD80s. Did HA used to operate these or something??? If so, why did they ditch them for the DC9-50? Kind of like Aloha opting for the 737-200 over the 737-3/4/500.

HA operated 2 MD-80's briefly in the early 80's in intra-island. They were not flexible and hence service was shortlived.

I dumped at the gybe mark in strong winds when I looked up at a Porter Q400 on finals. Can't stop spotting.
