They'll be the second Asian airline to operate these after Silkair.

What about China Eastern who have the most A319's in asia and CNAC that have 2 ??

I imagine the A319's will replace the 2 757's that are too large or unprofitable for many of RBA's routes:

BWN-SIN (morning flight), BWN-BKI, BWN-KCH, BWN-SUB, BWN-DRW

He, I think Swiss has some for sale. They already bought earlier Fokker 100 from Swissair but they didn't use them very long I think...

bwn-drw is ops by 763 for about 8-9 years now. both flts continue on to / originate in bne. route is actually quite popular. nut sure how 9-11 has effected this though.

Yep, Miami1 is right, DRW-BWN is a 767 service twice weekly, Trying to get a seat on these flights is really difficult, even after 9/11 because BI offer VERY attractive fares to and from the UK. Have heard that it may go 3x weekly since MAS pulled out

I also stand corrected. :P Just checked BIs timetable and DRW - BWN has a 767 and 757 service but BWN - DRW is a twice weekly 757 only.

Can anyone tell me if the 757s go via BNE? if not this may be the reason - to put more seats on to DRW and BNE

Just a correction to the above posts - MAS has not pulled out of Brisbane - they are merely reducing services from 6x to 4x weekly.

The A319 would also suit BI's BWN-KUL service too...

A319 very suitable for RB short flights (BWN-KCH, BWN-BKI, BWN-MYY).
I think they will retain the 752, at least one of them. I've heard some rumours that they are planning to reconfigure their 752 all pax to a freighter. Can't wait to see the mini Airbus land in KCH!

May be the route that Royal Brunei will use for it's A319 can free it's 757 to launch new flights.

Adol : Note that you are based in Kuching. Passed through KCH recently and flew on VisionAir's DO228 (9M-VAA & 9M-VAM) and also photographed Transmile Air's B727-200F (9M-TGA), but failed to get the B733 of Air Asia.

Interesting traffic at KCH. Royal Brunei's A319 would be a cute and smart little addition to the scene.
