Celebrity Airplanes

Mon Feb 04, 2002 3:32 am

Hey, I was wondering if any of you guys and gals what kinds of planes that Celebrities, sports stars, or famous people fly. I would imagine that with all the money they make, they would have their own aircrafts!!

If you know of any, that would be great!

Thanks a lot!

Hey DeltaASA16,

I can be wrong, but I thought that I saw a picture a year ago of a B727 of The Backstreet Boys. I can be wrong, but...

I know Tom Hanks and Arnold Schwarzenager have gone in together on a BBJ with about 3 other guys from hollywood. In fact, I got to see that plane here in Austin about a month ago, it was really beautiful. I think it would be really cool to be at New Orleans right now, as the number of exec jets would undoubtedly be quite large.

Also, U2 has their own 727 with the "U2" logo painted all over it, saw that one here also.

Anyone know what kind of plane Bruce Dickenson of Iron Maiden owns? All that I know is that it is a twin engine plane of some sort, he was flying it from Los Angeles to London and he had to make an emergency landing about a year ago in Green Land.

Hey DeltaASA,
The Backstreet Boys leased for their world tour last year.
When Michael Jackson came to NZ on his History world tour, he had a B707 although I don't know if it's his own.
Kenny Rogers flew here on his DC9; don't know if he's still got it!
At the moment, we have the owner of the Miami Dolphins here on holiday.
There was an article in the paper about his private jet.
They described it as being a 737-400 but I'm sure it's actually a BBJ; you know what the papers are like.

Bill Gates also has B752's. By the way can you give the N# of the BBJ owned by Tom Hanks and Arnold? The paper indeed is incorrect. H. Wayne Huizenga owns N737WH a BBJ painted with the Miami Dolphin on the tail. He owns numerous aircraft and numerous businesses. It is currently in Christchurch, NZ having flown there from Kona, HI. Anyone able to get a pic.

Steven Spielberg apparently has a Global Express, but I'm not 100% sure.

John Travolta's 707 is N707JT:

at Dallas Love Field, I spotted a 727-100 being used by the rock band, U2, during their Pop-Mart tour. In the past have also seen MGM Grand 727-100s chartered by Fleetwood Mac on one of their tours (the Behind The Mask tour for FWM fans) as well as a 727-100 charted by Stevie Nicks on her Street Angel tour.

Now here's an idea to categorise such planes into one section. Johan please note.

Not that he's such an international celebrity, but Norwegian financier Kjell Inge Røkke has a Boeing 737-700 BBJ.

When I was a Lead mechanic at Dee Howard. We did a C-Check on Argentina's Air Force One. It was a very nice B757 with a Secura-Plane Field Alarm system. Camera's mounted on Nose and Main gears would snap photos at anyone intruding into the plane's 30FT area.

As you know we also did the Chinese Premiere's B767 at Dee Howard, the one making all the news channels. They claim we put listening devices on the Aircraft. What they aren't telling you is, there was 3 Chinese Military Agents watching everyone at all times. I find it hard to believe they were put on in our facility.

Was this jet converted to a cargo configuration for her?

Just wondering.

Let's not forget Elvis's CV-880, named after his daughter, Lisa Marie. The bird still exists, on display at Graceland.

Many airlines and aviation services companies have aircraft available to sports teams; 737s and 727s used to be popular choices in the US but that has probably changed.

The WWF Canadair Challenger is the Rock's? Isn't it more like Vince McMahon's? Actually on Monday Night RAW a couple weeks ago when Ric Flair came out to the ring, they showed that jet on the big screen behind him.
